Daughter of the company’s founder and Managing Director, Amy McDermott, having recently graduated in Law from Leeds University, has chosen not to become a solicitor but instead to enter the family business.

Starting initially as the Company Secretary, Amy has taken the role of Commercial Director, as the company moves into a phase of expansion, having recently completed postgraduate studies in Project Management.

MD Paul McDermott states, “I see Amy’s youth as a positive asset. Her self-discipline and organisational ability are just what we need as the company moves into the current expansion phase. In the coming months we will be looking for a showroom base, ideally with a production facility at the same site, and our workload will increase substantially. Having tried unsuccessfully to recruit for the role, it was something of a ‘lightbulb moment’ as it dawned upon me that my own daughter was a far more suitable candidate that those I had interviewed”

Amy joins the company at an exciting stage of it’s development as the growing product range will be brought to market.
